How Bayu Senja Came to Be
The name Bayu Senja — evening breeze — was chosen deliberately. That quiet hour at the end of the day is often the loneliest for older relatives living at home, particularly when working family members are still commuting or haven't yet arrived. We wanted to be the presence that made that hour, and the hours before it, feel less empty.
Founded in Petaling Jaya, Bayu Senja grew from conversations with families in Selangor who were navigating long working hours and the worry of leaving an older parent or grandparent alone at home each day. They didn't need intensive support — they needed someone consistent, warm, and trustworthy who could be present when the family couldn't.
We began with a single service — daytime companionship — and grew carefully, adding practical help with errands and technology as families asked for it. Every step has been taken at a measured pace, because the people we serve deserve steadiness, not churn.

Founder & Programme Lead
Siti spent a decade working with community welfare organisations across Selangor before founding Bayu Senja. She shapes every programme and handles family onboarding personally.
Low Hui Yen
Companion Coordinator
Hui Yen matches companions to households and maintains the day-to-day schedules for all active programmes. Her attention to consistency means the same faces show up, reliably.
Rajan Murugesan
Logistics & Errand Operations
Rajan coordinates all transport and errand runs across PJ and Selangor. He knows the area well and handles route planning and timing with quiet efficiency.

Standards We Hold Ourselves To
Companion Vetting
Every companion is personally interviewed, reference-checked, and briefed on the specific household before their first visit. We don't send strangers.
Written Scope for Every Programme
Each family receives a clear written outline of what is included, what is not, and what the agreed schedule looks like — before anything begins.
Household Privacy
Information about clients and their families is kept strictly internal. Companions are briefed on confidentiality and do not share household details externally.
Consistent Family Communication
End-of-visit notes, scheduling updates, and confirmations are sent to the family through their preferred channel — WhatsApp or email — reliably and promptly.
Continuity Over Rotation
We avoid switching companions between households where possible. Familiarity matters to older relatives, and we protect it as a priority, not an afterthought.
Regular Programme Reviews
We check in with families every few weeks to see whether the programme still fits their situation and to adjust before issues arise rather than after.
What We Stand For
Grounded in Everyday Respect
Older relatives living at home in Malaysia often have well-established daily rhythms — particular times for meals, familiar television programmes, preferred routes for an afternoon walk. What they need from outside help is not disruption but reinforcement: someone who fits into those rhythms rather than overriding them.
At Bayu Senja, we spend time before a programme begins understanding the older relative's preferences. Siti or a senior team member visits the household, meets the family and the relative in question, and builds a picture of what daily life looks like and what kind of presence would feel most natural. That understanding shapes the companion we assign and the activity outline we prepare.
We work primarily in Petaling Jaya and the wider Klang Valley. The families we serve are often working professionals — many in their forties and fifties — managing busy careers while also carrying real concern for a parent or grandparent at home. They are looking for assurance, not complexity. Our programmes are intentionally simple to engage and clear in their scope so that families can understand exactly what they are arranging without needing to decode jargon.
We are not a large agency. We are a small, deliberate team, and we think that shows in how we work. Each household receives individual attention, and nothing about our service is automated or impersonal. That is something we intend to preserve as we grow.
